Fremantle Magic Festival Success!
The West Australian Society of Magicians held yet another successful fund raiser for the Society and Princess Margaret Hospital's Starlight Foundation. The club members performed for 30 hours over three days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the last weekend of school holidays on 9, 10 and 11 October, 2009. Raising nearly $1000.00 for Starlight, the club will put them over that mark by a donation of an additional $250.00 to Starlight.
WASM supports many charities and non profit associations in Perth including Purple Twilight, Victorian Bush Fire Appeal and the Australian Red Cross. The membership pulls together on its own whenever there is a need and never hesitates when asked for help. WASM members are busy entertainers who also have a firm belief that returning something to their community is a duty. Bravo to the members!
Over 1000 children and their parents visited the fundraiser at Cicerello's Restaurant in Fremantle. The event itself was free to the public with ticketed shows throughout the day. The generosity of those visiting were directly responsible for the funds raised at this event and the gratitude of the performers is extended to those who attended.
The Festival was the brainchild of Tom Tulp and a select committee of magicians who organized the event. Be watching this space for upcoming magic events in Perth and the surrounding areas.
